Presidents Mixed 8 Team Competition Rules Formally The 8 Man Team Competition. Open to All WWCBA Member and Affiliated Clubs
1. President’s Mixed 8 Team Competition (Fee £15 each team). 2. Dates for these matches are included in the Programme of Activities and will be strictly adhered to. Games will be played on, or before, the closing dates which will be set annually. There will be no exceptions. 3. Clubs are required to advise the Competitions Officer of any mutually agreed alternative dates which precede the identified closing dates allocated by the Competitions Sub Committee. This applies to all rounds. 4. All games shall be 31 up. Teams to comprise of 8 players, 4 home and 4 away. All matches, semi finals and final will be played on a 4 home and 4 away basis. All four games at both venues are to be played together and corresponding home and away legs must be played at the same time unless prevented from doing so by inclement weather. 5. The competition will be run on an open basis with an open draw for each round. Matches to commence at 7.00 pm, unless an earlier start time is mutually agreed. No restriction on amount of teams from each club. 6. Practice for home players is allowed up to the agreed start time. 7. Clubs are to observe agreed start times. Substitutes, if present and available to play may replace selected players. Any club not sending its full complement of players shall forfeit 31 shots for each absentee. 8. The captain of the winning team shall, on the day of the match, forward the score sheet signed by himself to the Competitions Officer. If the score sheet does not reach the Competitions Officer by the first post of the Tuesday following the schedule date, the offending team will be fined £10. 9. All team sheets shall additionally be completed to include the players’ BCGBA Registration Numbers and a statement to the fact that they are authentic. 10. Any club which fails to satisfy these requirements will automatically generate a fine of £10.00. 11. Any club which identifies false numbers will invoke ‘Ineligible Players Penalties’ set out in League Competition Rule 17. 12. The competition is to be run on a handicap based on Premier League status. The handicap for ‘B’ teams shall be reduced by the equivalent of 4 divisions and the ‘C’ teams by 7 divisions eg. Premier 3 ‘B’ Team = 12 shots handicap Premier 3 ‘C’ Team = +6 shots handicap The spirit of the game must prevail i.e. Strongest team must be the ‘A’ team. The Competitions Officer will vet incoming result cards. For a Premier 1 Club = 48 shots For a Premier 2 Club = 42 shots For a Premier 3 Club = 36 shots For a Premier 4 Club = 30 shots For a Premier 5 Club = 24 shots For a Premier 6 Club = 18 shots (e.g. Premier 3 team v Premier 6 team, ie. 36 shots - 18 shots = 18 shots handicap). 13. Combination club teams and Affiliated club teams will have handicaps set by the Management Committee. 14. In the event of a draw, on same date of match (or within the following 7 days) the match to continue on a 1 home 1 away basis playing 11 up only. In the event of a second draw this procedure will again apply but the players must be changed. Team Captains will select who should play at each stage until a result is achieved. 15. In the 8 Mixed Gender Team Competition players may compete as members of clubs which are not Member clubs of the WWCBA but are directly affiliated. 16. Players who compete for Non-Member clubs cannot also compete, in the same season, for WWCBA Member Clubs. 17. Players who are members of more than one member Club must play only for the Club for whom they play in the Association other than when players elect to play for directly affiliated clubs. 18. Players who are members of more than one non member club may only play for the non member club for which they play in their Association. 19. Players may play for only one Team where their Club enters more than one team in the competition. 20. The playing of an ineligible player shall be deemed an offence, the penalty for which, if committed by a winning team, shall be elimination from further part in the competition and, if by a losing team, the fine of £10.00. The offence shall also make the player and his team captain liable to be debarred from all Association competitions for twelve calendar months from the date of the offence. When the offence is committed by a winning team, if by the deduction of the offending player’s score from his team’s aggregate, the opponents are shown to have the higher aggregate, the opponents shall be awarded the match. If the deduction shows the score to be tied, then 8 mixed gender cup rule 14 shall be applied. 21. Disputes will be adjudicated by the Competitions Sub Committee. Their decision will be final.
