Insurance Information The purpose of this note is to bring to
the attention of all member clubs appropriate information concerning the
Personal Accident Insurance Group Policy which is renewed annually from the 1st
April. GENERAL CONDITIONS INTERPRETATION The policy and schedule shall be read as
one contract and any word or expression to which a specific meaning has been
attached shall bear that meaning wherever it appears. BASIS OF CONTRACT The proposal and any supplementary
declaration or statement shall be the basis of and form part of this contract. OBSERVANCE The observance by the Insured and the
Insured Persons of the terms of this policy and the truth of the statements and
answers in the proposal and any supplementary declaration or statement shall be
conditions precedent to any liability of the Company. AGE LIMIT This policy does not cover bodily injury
sustained after the year of insurance during which any insured person’s 75th
birthday occurs. CANCELLATION The Company may cancel the policy by
sending seven days’ notice to the Insured’s last known address and the
insured shall become entitled to a return of premium corresponding to the
unexpired period of insurance. CLAIMS CONDITIONS SUBMISSION OF CLAIM Written notice of a claim shall be given
to the Company without unnecessary delay after the injury which is the subject
of the claim. EVIDENCE All certificates, information and
evidence to support a claim shall be provided at the expense of the insured and
shall be in a form as required by the Company.
The insured person shall as often as required submit to medical
examination at the expense of the Company. SCHEDULE OF BENEFITS Accidental bodily injury causing:

Benefit shall not be payable under more than one of the clauses in the
schedule of benefits in respect of the same accident or of the same period of
disablement in respect of the same Insured Person except that payment may be
made under both clauses 4 and 5. After
a claim has been paid under one of clauses 1 to 4 in respect of any Insured
Person no further liability shall attach to the Company in respect of that
person during the current period of insurance. 2.
Benefit under clause 4 shall be payable only on certification by a
medical referee of permanent total disablement as defined and not before the
expiry of 104 consecutive weeks disablement. 3.
Benefit under clause 5 shall be paid: (a) (i) when the total amount in respect of any one period of disablement
has been agreed or (ii) at the request of the insured at intervals of not less than 4 weeks
subject to medical and other information required by the Company (b) up to but not exceeding in all 104 weeks in respect of any period(s) of
disablement resulting from any one accident 4.
Benefits 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 shall be payable to the Insured Person who is
the subject of a claim or his/her legal personal representative(s) whose receipt
shall be a valid discharge of the Company’s liability. INSURED
PERSONS (a) participating in or officiating at matches or competitions
(including practice) for any club of the WWCBA. (b)
travelling by road or rail to or from matches or competitions. (This
includes County matches, league matches, Cup matches, merit Competitions). 2.
Registered players, officials (male or female) formally involved in any
of the WWCBA County Matches and Junior County Matches. 3.
Registered members of clubs within the WWCBA, or other clubs contributing
to the Personal Accident Insurance Group Policy, participating in the Affiliated
Associations. 4.
Registered players, officials (male or female) formally involved in any
internal one day or ongoing club (domestic) competition. 5.
Registered Referees in pursuit of refereeing responsibilities within the
auspices of the Referees Society. 6.
Officers of the Association, and Management Committee Members undertaking
official duties associated with the general management of the association,
including travelling by road or rail to or from matches or competitions or
Committee meetings. 7.
Groundsmen acting on behalf of their clubs on green maintenance and other
related duties at any time will be afforded all these identified benefits
subject to the payment of an annual fee determined by the Management Committee. MANAGEMENT
OF SCHEME Any
club seeking further clarification of the nature and scope of the scheme should
write to the Association Secretary who will respond. Any club which has a claim to make
should appraise the Secretary immediately.
The Secretary will provide the necessary documentation which should be
completed and submitted to the Insurance Company within 7 days. We hope that everyone has a trouble free
