17/05/2008  Practice Time: At the Management Committee Meeting on 12th May, the issue of practice time was discussed and it was recommended that all Clubs should follow the following guide lines.   The away team shall practice the home green from 14.40 hours until 14.55 hours.  This will allow the away team captain to have his practice and make the draw at 14.55 hours ready for a 15.00 hours prompt start.  Barry Jones, Fixture Secretary.

02/05/2008 Result Cards First of all I would like to thank everyone who has let me have their result by text or phone or email on Saturday/Sunday. This has been very helpful.
However, because of the disarray in postal services I do not get the cards until Tuesday lunchtime at the earliest, and this week it will be even worse because of the Bank Holiday and they will not arrive until Wednesday. Would it be possible for those who can, to scan the card and send it to me by email and then post on in the usual way. I will be at the County Game at Moor Lane on Sunday and if someone from your club is going they could hand the card to me.

All your help is gratefully received. Barry Jones. W & W Fixture Secretary

22/04/2008 There seems to be some confusion with regard to the dates for the Junior Merit.  This will be held on Sunday 15th June.  The time and venue will be announced tomorrow.  Darren Simpkin, Secretary

22/04/2008 The closing date for the Harry Jones Mixed Team Championship is to be extended to Monday 5th May.  There will be no preliminary round.  Darren Simpkin, Competition Secretary

15/04/2008 Match Results Update I would like to thank all clubs who took time to send me their results over the weekend.  This meant that I received 43 results and have been able to meet the deadline with the Birmingham Mail and hopefully they will be tomorrow night's paper.  I would be very grateful if this system of sending me your results can continue as I only received 6 cards which had been hand delivered by 9.30 a.m. today.  Although I have received a large number of cards in the post today they did not arrive until 10.45a.m.  Barry Jones, W & W Fixture Secretary

12/04/2008 W&W Match Results In view of our 'new and improved" postal services I will not be able to provide the service that I have done over the last few years, in as much as last year apart from one or two cards all results were in on Tuesday. Now that the Sunday collections have been cancelled and I don't receive any post until 11.30 - 12 noon, I will be unable to send the results to the Birmingham Mail as they have to be with them by 10 a.m. on Tuesday in order to get into that weeks Wednesday edition.

It would be very much appreciated if you could let me have your results either through Talking Bowls.com, texting, phoning or emailing me on Saturday night or Sunday and then posting the card in the usual way. As things stand at the moment league tables will not be up-dated until the end of the week. All I need in the first instance is just the match result, individual scores I will take from the cards when received.

Please can you put the score down for example: Greville 246 - Tanworth 199 and not "The Greville won by 45ish I think and had 11 winners".

Thank you in anticipation of you understanding all of the above!!

25/03/2008  An update on things at the Baldwin.
The pub was closed just after Christmas but has now reopened with yet another different landlord (husband and wife) who think they can make a go of things. I've only had one chat with the guy but I think he is on the side of bowling as he has run pubs with greens before.
As far as car parking is concerned it's good news. The clamping firm have been kicked out so we can park on the pub car park with no restrictions and no need for permits.
Chris Bird Secretary Baldwin B.C.
